I am now working in both painting and 19th century alternative process photography to express my wonder for the world around us. My current series is based on the ruggedness and beauty of Vancouver Island’s coast, scenes that I have viewed while walking the paths around Sooke. Our environment is both complex and ephemeral and I find inspiration in the different moods that the landscape exhibits daily.
I have worked in watercolour, acrylic and oils.  I find that  oils give me the greatest ability to express my intentions. For my photography, I continue to work in methods from the 18th century which is now called alternative process. I work in Platinum/Palladium, Carbon, Gum Bichromate and various early silver processes.
I have been greatly influenced by my late father-in-law Alan Lester who was a well known watercolour artist in Victoria. I have also been influenced by both realistic and impressionist landscape artists and photographers. These include Mitchell Albala, Sue Charles, Hester Berry, Ian Roberts, Richard Musgrave-Evans, Keith Carter and Renato Muccillo. For my own work, I like to work in a semi-impressionistic style.
My work is held in private collections in Canada, the United States and the UK. My work has been exhibited at the Slide Room Gallery, Art Incognito, Sister Cities and Look Victoria.
